Assist with the supervision of the Cyber Library, including maintaining a productive study environment and ensuring adequate evening student worker coverage of the libraryâ??s Help Desk and Tutoring Center. Provide general reference services to faculty, staff and students. Assist with technology questions and troubleshoot issues with library equipment. Provide supervision of evening student worker staff in the library and tutoring center.
Position runs August through May.
Work schedule is Monday to Thursday 3:00 â?? 9:00 pm.Â
Assist with the day-to-day organization, security, and appearance of the Cyber Library, ensuring that it is a welcoming study environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Bachelorâ??s degree required.
Experience effectively managing student staff.
Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration.
Illustrates a history of successfully collaborating with coworkers on a regular basis to achieve common goals.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people.
Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness.
Positive attitude.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Self-starter with the ability to perform with little direct supervision.
Ability to pass a background check.
Strong database searching skills are necessary, particularly with integrated library systems and discovery service.
Knowledge of information literacy skills for higher education and loan and copyright policies and procedures.
Strong computer and technological skills are necessary.
