Position Summary | The Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience in the College of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medicine is seeking postdoctoral research associate candidates to perform research and scholarly activities on understanding interaction between HIV and substance abuse/aging. Specially focused on invitro and in vivo studies focused on cell lines, mouse, and non-human primates to understanding how disease mechanisms can operate during host-virus/co-morbid conditions. The incumbent will perform experiments, analyze data, write scientific manuscripts, and present in scientific meetings. Hands on experience in small and large animal handling and immunoinformatic will be preferred. Extensive experience in immunology of the diseases manifestations and working experience in BSL2, BSL3 and ABSL2 and ABSL3 labs preferred. Research interests include animal models as synergetic platform for preclinical development of therapeutics and molecular biology aspects of the diseases. A self-starter with strong interest in understanding virological/immunological aspects of the HIV/SIV and other emerging/chronic viruses is preferred. |
